Located in the heart of Austin, Zilker Park provides 351 acres of land with multiple activities for everyone (even your pups!). There is a hike and bike trail, volleyball courts and a nine hole disc golf course available if you are looking to be active. There is also the Zilker Zephyr miniature train for the kids. Some seasonal events held at Zilker Park include the Kite Festival, Zilker Summer Musical, Austin City Limits, Blues on the Green, Jazz Festival, Park Tree Lighting and Trail of Lights.
Lady Bird Lake is a major recreation area for downtown Austin. Previously known as Town Lake, this body of water provides activities such as canoeing, kayaking and paddle-boarding. Music venues on the banks of Lady Bird Lake are home to a number of events year-round, including ACL, the Austin Reggae Festival.
Barton Springs Pool is a popular man-made swimming pool located near Zilker Park. This natural spring fed pool is a cool 68 degrees year round and makes for a perfect way to cool down during a Texas summer. Make sure to bring your goggles so you can check out the fish, crayfish and turtles that are swimming along the bottom.
