2021 Float On Kickoff Meeting

It’s that time of year again! Float On had our first big employee meeting last weekend. We want to share what this means for us and for all our adoring fans, wanna-be captains, and soon to be tan friends itching to get out on the water like the rest of us. 

To start out, we talked about ourselves a lot and really flexed on our milestones:

• 2020 was our first year with over $1mm in sales! Including being shut down for 2 months over covid, and a large portion of our clientele not being able to travel here.
• We learned a lot about lucrative and fun partnerships in 2020. We had partnerships with some of Austin’s favorite companies, including Easy Tiger, P. Terry’s, and Bumble!
• We grew our team to over 30 staff! This includes boat captains, dockhands, admin, van/party bus drivers, and our management team. 
• We started Float On Boat Sales as Central Texas’ exclusive Aloha Pontoon dealer, selling some of the best built, wildest looking and fastest pontoons around.

There was more that we bragged about like when we took out DeAndre Hopkins and a ton of Dallas Cowboys players last year, or that we have been taking out Austin FC players and coaches, but we’ll save that for another day.

We also went over some new procedures and operations that will solidify our spot as the top boat rental company in Central Texas. Things like electronic waivers to take the pen and paper out of the equation, check out/in systems for our amazing captains to ensure the boats are clean and stocked with everything they could need out on the water, and team building activities that we can enjoy in the AC. We also introduced everyone to our new aloha pontoons including our 32 foot 700 horsepower Powertoon!

For 2022 Float On is focused on creating memorable experiences that last a lifetime for our friends, coworkers, and community. That means working on having the best culture and attracting the best talent to add to our rockstar team. That also means showing our guests, friends and family what a bunch of lake bums can do with a little bit of effort and a lot of heart in the right place.
