Dam That Cancer 2018 Recap
Over the past 5 years, Float On has been a proud contributor to the Dam That Cancer cause!
They say there is strength in numbers.
Every one of the 185 paddlers completed their trip from Mansfield Dam to Tom Miller Dam on June 25, 2018! There was certainly no shortage of encouragement and love among those involved. Strong winds and high temps weren’t enough to phase the determined volunteers. The Flatwater Foundation raised over $700,000 to provide those diagnosed with cancer, their families and loved ones with access to mental health therapy and family support.
Float On is honored to be a part of the fundraiser by donating six boats for the day and a group of volunteers to help ensure things run smoothly!
The 8 hour journey begins at Mansfield Dam and continues throughout the entire – 21 mile – length of Lake Austin, until they reach Tom Miller Dam. Each paddler raises over $1,500 for The Flatwater Foundation. Proceeds from the event will provide access to mental health and wellness programs for those affected by cancer who can not otherwise afford it.
