Things To Do For 4th of July In Austin, TX

In just a few days, Austin will be throwing down for one of the most celebrated holidays of the year, the 4th of July! This year the holiday falls on a Monday, but this just means a weekend long pre-game before the big day. If you don’t have any plans yet, fear not, as we have some great suggestions for places to go to join the upcoming festivities.

Devils Cove and the Lake Austin Party Cove will be LIT, and we’re not just talking about fireworks. Speaking of fireworks though, we have opened some special 7:00pm and 8:00pm launch times for those who want to go out on the water later in the day to enjoy the 4th of July’s cherished firework shows! The iconic Lake Travis fireworks will be at Starnes Island on July 3rd and Mattress Mack’s place on July 4th. Both shows will begin once the sun goes down, at approximately 8:30pm.  There is no better way to celebrate ‘Merica than on a boat. Our boats are booking out fast, so if for some reason you can’t get on with us but still want to hang out in the lake area, check out the Lago Vista Freedom Festival on Saturday, July 2nd. There will be a 5k, parade and other festivities, finished off with a fireworks show. This is a great option for families! The city of Lakeway will host a similar event on the morning of Monday July 4th, with live music, food, and games for the kiddos!

If you’re looking for an adrenaline rush this weekend, Lake Travis Zip Lines is offering $15-20 off in honor of the holiday. Get some awesome views of all the party goers on the lake from the longest and fastest zip lines in the state of Texas. The property even has its own lakefront area where patrons can enjoy some time by the water after their zip line tour.

For those looking to enjoy a great meal this weekend, check out the Sunday Brunch at Canyon Grille or for a super elevated experience, Steiner Ranch Steakhouse. Both offer great views of the lake and are within 15 minutes of our marina. These would be great spots to stop at before coming to see us, or just great spots in general if you’re looking for an awesome lake view brunch!

If you want to celebrate in true “Live Music Capitol of the World” fashion, check out the iconic Willie Nelson’s 4th of July picnic at Austin’s pride a joy, Q2 stadium. Other artists that will be playing include Tyler Childers, Jason Isbell, and Midland. Enjoy some of Texas’ best country music artists and get to experience the gorgeous Austin FC stadium, all in one trip!
