Lake Travis: North Shore

You know those cute Hallmark movie towns where everyone knows each other and there is a parade or festival for major holidays?? Well I would love to share with you the cutest lakeside community of Lago Vista. The most perfect way to spend a weekend in and around this Hill Country town is no longer a secret. 

First you need to book your place to stay and guess what? We have a great vacation home option for you that is run members of your favorite Float On team. You will start your weekend by checking into Casa Lago (family friendly 3 bedroom home located on an acre of fun). You can spend the evening grilling out on the multi level deck and then head down to the fire pit to make s’mores and tell ghost stories.

In the morning you will pack up your guests and head to Bar K Park less than a mile away (the private lakeside park that your Casa Lago stay will give you access to!). You will drive right up to the water and make your lakeside hangout spot. The morning and afternoon will be full of swimming, playing sand volleyball/tennis/basketball, and fishing. By this point you will be exhausted so you will need a pick me up at Casa Mexico Cantina where you can fill your belly with tacos and margaritas. Oh snap where did the time go?? Head off to the Warbler Vista Trails so you can catch the amazing sunset at the Sunset Deck. Don’t forget to get that Instagram photo!

Ok rise and shine it’s time for another day of adventure and what better way than to go dirt biking or ATV riding at Hidden Falls Adventure Park. (Rumor has it my 55 year old dad crashed into a tree here while riding a dirt bike but that’s another story for another day 😬) It will be exhausting and thrilling, so you’ll need time to refuel again. Everyone wants something different? No worries, the Lago Food Park has an option for everyone. Problem solved! My personal favorite is the Yucca Fries from Four Brothers.  

With full bellies it is time to head out to Arkansas Bend Park where you requested a special pickup from Float On for your boat rental. This public lakeside park has everything you need while you wait. Relax under the shade while the kids play on the playground or take a dip in the lake. Once on the boat sit back and relax while your amazing captain takes care of everything for you. There is nothing like watching the sunset on the water.
