4th of July in Austin

Austin is gearing up for a spectacular 4th of July and there’s no better place to celebrate than in the heart of Texas. We’ve got an incredible lineup of events to make your Independence Day memorable, from classic firework displays to adventurous outdoor activities and vibrant festivals.

Epic July 4th Events

Start your celebrations with the city’s largest Independence Day event – Austin Symphony H-E-B July 4th Concert & Fireworks. Hosted at Auditorium Shores and the Long Center, the event features a fantastic medley of patriotic music, courtesy of the Austin Symphony, culminating in a grand finale of fireworks over Lady Bird Lake. Remember to arrive early for a good spot and check out the various bridge viewing options: the South First Street Bridge, Congress Bridge, and Pfluger Pedestrian Bridge.

Join the family-friendly Hill Country Galleria Independence Day Festival on July 4th. Enjoy a day of live music, shopping, dining, and backyard games before ending the night with a spectacular fireworks show.

Be sure to attend the annual Willie Nelson’s 4th Of July Picnic at the Q2 Stadium, home of Austin FC. Our very own Willie Nelson, along with a host of other top talents, promises an unforgettable musical experience, coupled with a fantastic firework display.

Embrace the Outdoors

Of course, the best way to spend 4th of July is on the Lake with us. But if you missed out on booking a boat. There are still plenty of fun alternatives to make the most of this year’s 4th of July!

Take your friends and family out to the beautiful Zilker Park for a day of fun and frisbee, or get your adrenaline pumping with a hike along the scenic trails of the Barton Creek Greenbelt. If you prefer a more relaxed day out, you can stroll or jog along the Ann and Roy Butler Hike and Bike Trail, offering stunning views of Austin’s skyline.

Fireworks

This year, we’re offering a unique way to enjoy the firework displays – from the water! Join us on July 3rd to view shows from Lake Austin or Lake Travis, or take part in Mattress Mack’s firework show on July 4th!

And, of course, there are countless vantage points across town to watch the skies light up. Local parks such as Zilker Park, Rock Island, and Deep Eddy Park offer spacious lawns and open skies perfect for firework viewing. If you’re up for an adventure, rent a kayak or paddleboard and watch the colorful displays from Lady Bird Lake. For a chic experience, consider one of the many downtown rooftop lounges to enjoy the show from up in the sky.
